Being out on a boat

There is just something about being out on a boat, gliding across the waters surface, seeing nature in its purest form. From a boat we get the experience nature as it really is, and not from the comfort of a car or truck. We feel the wind in our face, hear the wind in our ears, the way nature is supposed to be experienced.

The edge of the water is just a touch away, the birds in the air, the fish in the water, the turtles on the logs, the wildlife on the waters edge,,, there are no words that can describe the feeling of being in a boat out in nature.

A couple of weeks ago my buddy and I took a boat out on Cow Bayou, which is close to Bridge city Texas. We launched the boat at the public boat launch at the twin bridges, then turned north and headed through the Orangefield area.

Parts of the bayou had something like a mildew glaze over the top, of which some fish were eating.

A couple of times during the boat ride, gar splashed water into the boat.
