Use whatcha got

I was trimming off the last slices of ham, from one that I cooked the other day, and I just couldn't throw away that ham bone. LOL

I had about 3 cups of diced ham, and a big ol' ham bone......so I threw it all in a pot, with a cut up onion and a pile of navy beans. I'm thinking it will be pretty good, by this afternoon. LOL

(BTW, the ham was cooked on the grill.)

Your timing is perfect... I read this post.. went to the store with the Mrs... got back in the car and she turns to me and say her grandma used to make soup outta ham bones and beans... I just started laughing.. Of course.. Most people who post here realize trying to tell your wife or anybody from the real world that "2dumb2kwit" was just talking about that today doesnt go over well

coincidence - both me and a neighbor had soup beans on yesterday. I used a slice of ham right on the end that was about 1/3rd bone tossed into the beans after soaking, draining (less gas) and simmering a bit.
