Gossman its clear that you are on the side of the liberal/progressive people here. You call yourself a moderator, why dont you do your job without being on one side. There are people here you let get by with flaming, name calling and just pure meanness and hatred. If you are going to moderate, why dont you do it fairly? Why are you moderating when its clear you are against the conservative's here. I think its a shame that we cant even have a discussion without name calling, being hateful, and abusing ones authority.
No rage, just moderating. Kevin will look at the threads I locked and the two I moved and will either leave them or reinstall them. There has been little I have locked other than some that were running off kilter. I am not promoting either side, just asking for some level of restraint in accusations, nothing anti-1st Amendment about it. Again, Kevin will look and make the decision.

I've been plenty fair. I have shown no favoritism to either side, and there has been little done in way of moderation. Kevin will decide and that should be enough.

We should be looking at ways to help our countrymen, not **** them off. I honestly dont see how some of you could honestly say that you are a proud american, who loves this country. True. Realize the the founding fathers of America had major disagreements in how they saw this country and it's direction. Both sides are needed to maintain the royal road. Freedom is always a bumpy ride. But I have little doubt that most here love their country. I love my country, I volunteered and served, I do my best to help maintain the freedoms that are in place. But being an American is not walking lockstep, no matter which side one walks on.

I agree with you. I served 8yrs. in the army. I have alot of friends still serving.I understand that we arent all going to agree on everything. thats fine becouse this is america. Things have been twisted and distorted over the years, but overall this is still the greatest country in the world. I think if we work instead of fight we can all be happy to call this our country and our home.
It may be best for all if gossman were to mod in another section since the general discussion/political section seems to upset him so much.
From what I've seen gossman has been trying to steer the threads away from wild-eyed ranting and towards adult conversation. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

When he sees a thread go from legitimate discssion to rhetoric/mudslinging/name calling, that's when he shuts things down. Doesn't matter who/which side is doing it. He's always been fair. Moderating is not an easy thing to do, so I suggest that you give him the benefit of the doubt. If you're unsure of why he does something, send him a PM and ASK.
I'm all for increased membership and participation...I just don't want to see this board slide from being a great resource with good debates to becoming a ranting, rhetoric-strewn mine field. That's not what brought me to this site, and once I see things going that direction, I'll be gone.
I sent a PM about mod Tabi( on the other site)...she lets some folks flame and disparage other folks and call them names, yet bans other folks for standing up to them. Obviously shows favoritism......

It is a private forum that you signed an agreement to join. Therefore the owner can ban whoever he wants, the 1A doesn't apply here just as it wouldn't in your own home where you make the rules. But the only real rule is you can say anything about anyone other than Kevin or his forum( for that he does ban)
