If I really were a "new guy" to one of Kev's boards should you welcome me as such?
Well Sir(s,)
Let me be the first to Welcome y'all
While this is now one of "Kev's boards," you must realize that many of the members have been around for some time, and for a noob (to this board,) to flame an exit post of a long time member, doesn't sit well with some folks. Must be that whole concept of putting your best foot forward when you first meet people. Just my thoughts on the subject. Take care, stay safe!
can someone give me some cliff notes I've been away for a while..
Is cajungeo gone? where did he go and what others have left? what about the site changes?
Thanks for the responce
Peace ST~
He has passed away. But, out of total lack of respect for Cajun and the members here old Kevin still has him listed as a Moderator. Imagine that , change the whole make-up of the forum and forget to do what is right.
Sorry, couldn't help it, by.

Wow, that was uncalled for. The last post Cajun made was 01-01-2009. I do not know when he passed but I PM'ed when I first became a member, never heard anything back. So, maybe Bill should have removed him as a MOD when he passed. Don't think you need to put this one off on the new Admin! But WTH, it's America, you can do whatever you like.

Yes it was uncalled for, and he just had to vomit his sob story in the Mini forum too.
Where's the love!
One thing I've learned in my short time on earth is "don't let things
get to you".Its simply just not worth it.This forum has changed fast.
I haven't liked the way one of the moderators has operated or tre-
ated me but I just ignored it and moved on.

May the Perfect Union live on.
May this thread die and rest in peace.

I view keeping him listed as a mod as a sign of respect and honoring his memory.
I thought you were leaving, had to come back to complain about something? Again. When you get something under your skin, nobody is good enough are they? Going back to your original post, Kevin was introduced under his full name and an adequate description of him was given by Bill. Except for reorganizing the board, nothing has really gone wrong here. Go away, if you're going.
Is it that everyone believes what everyone else believes?
or, is it to give mutual respect to people with differing views?
While I really don't think this thread should be in this sub-forum, I think what has been said here is important. All things change, if they didn't, we'd still be living in caves. The hard part is blending the exuberance of youthful folly, with the wisdom of Crusty old people (of which I am a card carrying member, the OLD part, still working on the wisdom part)
While I do not know the specifics of what happened to you, I do know that someone who had a lot of knowledge, and pass a lot on, was banned because he had some Ruger & Co. issues, much the same as Steve, and others. Hopefully, thing will get better. If you don’t have hope and faith...
If I really were a "new guy" to one of Kev's boards should you welcome me as such?
And if I were a ' New Guy ' to one of ' Kev's ' other boards , and jumped in to damn a long time member that was an asset to that board , who for his own reasons decided to leave , that I never had any interaction with , how would you react to me ?
Respect is a two way street fine sir , you have to give a little to get a little . There was never an Introduction / Hello / Post boosting section before , as it wasn't needed . Everyone was welcomed and treated with respect , something which is lacking of lately here , and looking like more and more the intraweb Riff-Raff is making a return .
Since some people are panty twisted about the continued presence of the name, of the moderator that passed away. Why not put, IN MEMORIUM, or IN MEMORY OF, under his name?
Do you think that might help untwist some panties?
Gentlemen please. can't we all get along. not to long ago did a post thanking everyone for being nice. no matter what we are all not ging to see eye to eye on every issue so lets talk about guns.

Exactly, so let's get back to comparing the Mini 14 to the AR.......J/K

I never saw this introduction thread before, works for me. To be perfectly blunt I don't understand how anybody could take their 'bulletin board' life so seriously that they'd feel compelled to officially 'quit' a site. If I had a problem I'd just stop visiting it.

Bingo! Sometimes it's good to step away for a bit, reflect on how silly you've been to get so worked up, have a belly laugh then come back and join the party with a new outlook.
