Thanks to all of you who were rooting for me. Being that I was just trying to get a deer I was not very picky. At 4:45pm a couple of does came out to my left at 160 yards and I took the shot on the doe I had a clear shot on which happened to be the smaller of the two. I hit it square in the shoulder and it only went about 15 yards. That 30-06 did a number on the deer. The bullet went in the shoulder and came out the stomach leaving an exit wound big enough for me to put a grape fruit in. I know every one talks about the adrenalin but I could never understand the feeling until now. Here is the catch. The deer appeared to be a doe; it had no signs of horns or knobs but it had some male parts with out the important reproductive parts (if you catch my drift). Quite an odd dear and it had everyone at the hunt rather confused. Quite entertaining especially for my first deer.

Thank you,

I hunted for 2.5 years before getting my first deer. I saw a lot of other people, who while taking me to get one, get one. Needless to say this was a long time coming. I was hooked before but know I am HOOKED!:D

That is very interesting. I am glad to know I am not the only one who has ever killed one. Mine was a true hermaphrodite deer with both female and male parts. I just think it is hilarious that this happened on my first. I hope the meat is ok to eat:unsure:.

Congrats on your first deer buddy... Now you have the fever. Were you shaking after the shot? That's when you know its good... :D I just took a buddy out this Oct for his first deer and this last weekend again for his first buck and second deer in his life. I make a new post here soon to show pictures. Again, CONGRATS buddy... Welcome to the hunting club. :)

Thank you DrewArtist,

I was definitely shaking after I took the shot. I could not stop for quite some time. And I definitely have the fever.

Hay, if you start to feel "funny". Drink a beer and watch a Bears game. That will bring the "man" back to ya  Congrats again.

So prepare to laugh but here he/she is. Unfortunately I did not get any pics of the Genitalia because by the time we realized it was a hermaphrodite it was pretty much skinned and we were all bloody. Not to mention it was dark.

It probably taste the same... :p It's not uncommon to come across one. I have never harvested one, but I have heard about others who have. Was that your first deer?
