My friend Molly's 8 pointer came out 1st thing this morning. Just about 1st lite. She made a nice heart shot with my Ruger mini 30. He dropped in its tracks. It was her 1st buck.

I went back out to the same stand this evening just to take a nap. I let a small 6 pointer walk. 10 min later this 8 pointer came out. I could not pass on it. The lower pic is of my 8.

All total. I was only in the stand for about an hour today. It was an amazing day for this hunter.

I got to be with a younger hunter to help her get her 1st buck, Then I got my biggest 8 pointer to date. The hunting Gods where good to me today. CM out.

Congrats on both hunts. I love to see women get out their and hunt, I hope my daughter will be as enthusiastic as myself, I know mom isn't. I have tried, but she just has no interest in sitting in the woods to kill a deer. She does love to eat them though. :) Is he second photo your buck?

Tell her if she wants to eat she has to come out and help!

Congrats, on a great day.

It sounds to me like you did the right thing, and you were rewarded for it. I love hearing those kinds of stories!:)

She helps butcher and process all my kills. She also does the canning and grinding. :) She has helped me skin and dress out a lot of deer. I believe that the bed is to toasty in the morning and she hates the cold. :P

I relish any time I get away from town in the forest. Especially now that I've fine-tuned my clothing so I'm comfortable (Gore-Tex all around, and warm stuff underneath). The first year I put it all together I actually hated to peel it all off. First year I stayed dry during a day-long downpour in my life! :)

I do... I look forward to it all the time. The outdoors is my battery charger. It all helps my battery. I am not a big fan of cities. But I can't complain, I have a wife that understands a lets me do it when I can.

congrats on the 8-pointer. the M30 with good ammo is a fine eastern whitetail bush gun - with good placement at moderate range. about the same as a 30-30 IMO. I've used both for whitetail.
