Russian 9mm steel cased ammo

aimsurplus.com is offering poly coated steel cased 9mm in 1000 lots for $180 plus shipping. Any comments on steel cases? I plan to use them with a new Glock 17.

I have used lots of Wolf steel cased 230 Gr FMJ hardball ammo in my RIA Tactical .45

Never had a problem with any of it. The loads were not as "hot" as the Blazer ammo or others I have shot, but it performed well for me, no ill affects to the gun after close inspection.

I still have about 500 rounds of it on hand, all of it was and is reliable.

Used many thousands of rounds of Wolf and Monarch (also sold as Brown Bear) steel cased 9mm in several handguns and subguns. Never had any problems with it. The Military classic in the camo box is good stuff as is the Monarch/Brown Bear stuff. The black box Wolf is good for plinking, but seems to be a little inconsistant from lot to lot. I have had some lots that were loaded way too weak and others that were pretty hot. All of it is DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY!!! (did I mention it is DIRTY!);) Use it without worry.

EDIT:
Just looked at AimSurplus. That ammo (Tula) is Wolf ammo. Tula makes Wolf, Barnaul makes Brown Bear.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am going to the "toy" store (Scottsdale Gun Club) on Monday to try to rent a Glock 17. If all goes well, I'll buy it and order Russian ammo.

I've shot some of the 'silver bear' and 'military classic' (camo box) in my Makarov. the SB did fine, the MC about as well.
