I first tried Williams Fire Sights (fiber optic sights) on my Taurus PT145, and liked them so much that I just couldn't re-adapt to using my 3-dot sights on my 1911. My series-70 1911 already had an aftermarket rear sight dovetailed into it, which made it more difficult to find a fiber optic sight that would fit into this same cut. Neither Dawson nor Novak fiber optic sights would fit it. I tried those two companies first on the advice of a friend, but then came back to Williams when they struck out (should have gone to Williams first).

I sent in my slide so Williams could get a good look at what I had, and they promptly informed me they could set me up with their Fire Sights. I let their gunsmith, Kevin, remove the old sights and install the new Fire Sights. He did a great job with my Govt. Model slide, cutting in a new front sight dovetail and slightly modifying my rear dovetail to make the application work.

The final result was outstanding. The sight picture is incredibly improved (I'm 51 & need readers for up-close vision). Williams has a very good product and a fair price. I give them high marks for these sights and the professional install!
