Anyone played around with putting a texture on a synthetic stock? There is another post out here with a link to RDPRECISION but he doesn't seem to be taking on any work.
Anyone on the forum do anything?
There is a spray on texture paint available. I can't remember the name of it, but think it is called "Brick", it was a 2 part spray can. It put a nice texture on a synthetic stock that I had. It's available in most larger hardware stores or Home Depot. Ask at the stores. It has held up pretty well, but will chip if knocked hard against something sharp. Seems to me it was a "Brick" texture or something like that. I used it on a project when I went through Gunsmithing school. It's available in several colors. Mine was a black/gray combination.
God Bless, John K
One of the posters over at www.calguns.net (http://www.calguns.net) put a stippled finish on a plastic PMag AR magazine with a soldering iron. It took him a while, but it looked pretty good.
If you wanted to do larger areas to get it done faster, you could put a pattern into a larger piece of metal and heat it up. You'd definitely want to practice on something disposable first!
