I've been wanting to do a side-by-side comparison of the Ruger Mini-30 and Saiga 7.62x39mm for a while now. If you talk to a Saiga owner, he says its better. If you talk to a Ruger owner, he'll tell you his is better. If you ask someone who owns both, you'll get mixed reviews.

So here is the deal, I'm willing to buy 200 rounds of ammo (of various brands, your choosing), and meet any Ruger Mini-30 owner in the Kansas City, MO area, on a day and range of your choosing. We will compare accuracy, weight, overall size, "feel" (which one suits the American Riflemen better), and recoil of the weapons (I have the Saiga). We will shoot 100 rounds of said ammo through each rifle and compare results.

So if you want to do a great service to the Firearms community, have some fun and shoot 100 rounds of ammo you didn't have to pay for, send me a pm or e-mail!

I recently moved outside KC and have a mini 30. For what its worth my Lancaster AK will shoot rings around the mini. I just got a accru strut for my mini 14 and want one for my mini 30. The trigger groups will be going for trigger jobs soon too if the guy ever emails me back. then I see how it shoots. Thinking about driving down to Springfield to get them cyro treated also. Anyway, right now the wandering groups are about five inches out of the mini and thats at 50 yards.

I have a 189 series M30, it responded well to a muzzle crown clean-up and stock shimming. as well as trigger job. I'm knocking on 2MOA at 100 yds w/a 1.5X4.5 'tactical' scope.
