bullet was a Sierra 55gr sp over 25gr of hodgdon Varget powder

The coyote was a young female her teeth were very clean and white

I called here in witha haydel mouth call
a rabbit call with mouse squeaker in it

Is the first shot an entry or exit wound?

I'm curious because .223 are legal here for deer, but I'm reading that varmit bullets are quite different from deer bullets, I'm considering taking my AR15 out for one of the small local whitetails in the future, but I'm still looking for the right bullets to load for larger game.

that is the exit wound

when she came into the clearing i centered on left side of hert neck
and it came out close to the spline as you can see
on the right with a pretty good exit wound

i have killed deer with the ar15 and shot placement is the key to a clean kill

i used the same bullets and powder on the deer

Thanks for the info, much apreciated.....:D

I have been using H322 and 55gr boatails for target practice, but from what I've read I should switch to a different powder for serious hunting, I've been looking at 63-69gr hallow point boatails since they are aparently the largest that will still stablize in my barrel.
I had a stainless/synthetic ranch mini-14 too, I sure miss it now, wish I had kept it, but the AR carbine is a good shooter, just gets more attention than the mini which I don't like, the mini was more "P.C." if you know what I mean.
