Here in Florida we have a term for bills that appear to be great legislation until you read the fine print, and you find a poising pill clause which renders the bill useless. We call them “TURKEYS”.
So what is the poising pill on the Democrats new energy bill that deals with lifting the ban of off-shore drilling? The Dem’s bill places a 100 mile limit on where drilling can take place. Problem is, most of the untapped off-shore crude lies within 50 mile of the coast.
So you say what does this mean? It means that 60%+ of the available oil will still be off-limits to drilling. Sounds more to me like business as usual, not a recovery plan at all.
