i turned 18 on the sept 2nd and remembered that i need to register for the draft. i didnt know the site (found it) and i found this almost mock site http://www.draftregistration.us/

anyone else disturbed by this? i understand if you dont want to register or dont "think you need to" but why creat a site that almost mocks it? im sure that i am not the first person using google to find the online site for the draft registration and found this

i just think this is stupid i mean there is a warning talking about how you will be in trouble for not registering before the invasion of either north korea or iran

It's a PARODY site. Meant for humor, but actually in poor taste to be sure.

I can see how this site could be confusing at first glance. I'm sorry you are put in such a position as to sign up for possible mandatory service. I had to as well.

You are SORRY that you had to sign up for mandatory service? When was the last time that anyone was called up for MANDITORY service? Service to one's country is an honorable thing, not a burden. As a matter of fact, service to ones country is the most honorable thing that a citizen can perform.

There are four reasons a citizen does not give a few years of their life in service to their country. They are:

1. Those who are physically or mentally unfit for service.

2. Those who are adicted to drugs and/or alcohol - they are unreliable.

3. Those who have criminal records and can not be trusted.

4. Cowards.

The first three are straight forward, but queit honestly, are a small percentage of those that do not serve. It's the last one is where most non-servers fall.

Oh, you will hear a thousands reasons (excuses) to justify their decision to not serve, but in truth, it all boils down to one word. See #4 for that word.

COBRADOC - I thank you for your service and I agree if your statement concerns draft dodging, but I hope you are not saying those of us who haven't served in the military are cowards.

I find it rather amazing that NWO is the only one who noticed that the website is nothing but a bad joke. :D

You would be surprised how far The Army has lowered the bar to meet their enlistment quota these days. Just go and ask a recruiter if you don`t believe me.

No. Sorry if it came out that way. That is not what I meant. I read the first two postings and it just hit me wrong that these two young men seem to find it beneath them to possibly have to serve their country, and at the time it just lit my fuse.

Again, I did not mean that anyone that has not served is a coward. But my statement still stands for these two yahoos unless I am proven otherwise.
