You probably that Barack Obama lost his bearings recently and said that he was going to campaign in all 57 states.

You heard this? And everybody chalked it up to, 'Well, he's tired.'

You know, this is a Dan Quayle moment. I mean, Dan Quayle goes out there and misspells 'potato,' and we sti ll hear jokes about it.

Barack Obama says he's gonna go out and campaign in 57 states, he was just tired, you know, it's been such a long campaign, he's been so many places, he probably thinks there are 57 states.

Well, I have here a printout from a web site called the International Humanist and Ethical Union.
And here is how t he second paragraph of an article on that website begins.

'Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations Commission on human rights called commbating.'

Obama said he's going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states. There are 57 Islamic states.

So did Obama just lose his bearings, or was this a more telling slip, ladies and gentlemen?

you know, the double standards are so rampant... I remember that incident. Idiot? Dan Quayle? The MSM hated the guy (gee, imagine that) and viciously lashed out at the guy for openly declaring that Murphy Brown provided a bad example for American women for glorifying the idea that being a single mother is perfectly acceptable and it's actually easy for a single mom to get by in modern society. Funny, the single mothers I've known through my life have had a majorly rough time trying to get by, and though they deeply love their children, I don't think a ONE of them would make the same mistake again, if they magically had the opportunity to 're-do'. Of course, for the most part, I'm "preaching to the choir" here as far as the liberal bias in the media is concerned. Just "walking down memory lane" in regards to the MSM attacks on Danny Quayle.

BTW--without doing a Google search on the guy, what's ole' Danny Q. doing these days? I haven't heard anything about one of my personal heroes, Lt. Col. Oliver North, in a long time, either. He wrote (or was it co-wrote?) a pretty good novel about Persian Gulf 1, and the UN's role in it, as well as the Russian's role. Good read, if but for no other reason than good entertainment. Where's Ollie these days, as well?

I think I can explain this very simply.

He started to say all 50 states, realized before it finished coming out of his mouth that wasn't accurate, he was only doing the lower 48 and had one left to go (47). Only problem was he'd already started the wrong number and his brain finished with the last half of the correct one: "Fifty(uh)seven"

Done similar myself. On the police radio. I shudder at Obama as President, but I think this borders on trivial.

Unfortunately as in real life, Manbearpig was never seen. Just like Al Gore's other ideas turn out.

He was a speaker at the NRA convention and I have seen his column in the Soldier of Fortune rag.

He also has some sort of regular series or segment on Fox News Channel of a military history nature IIRC. I never remember to watch it, as I'm usually on History Channel/Discovery Channel(s)/NatGeo etc.
