I HAVE THIS AK and it has a G stamped on it, I have had all kinds of people saying it means this and that, so let see what you all have to add to this.
One said it was used by the royal guard, another said border patrol, another said it was a ssr99p out of production gun.

and while you here WHAT do you thing this total package is worth.

Hmmm, this is interesting. I have a Rommy under-folder built by Sierra on an Armory USA receiver. I bought it used at a gun shop several years ago. Just last week after coming home from a firing session and cleaning it, I noticed for the first time the exact same 'G' in the exact same place as in your picture. It is so faint I had never noticed it before.
I thought maybe the original owner had scribed it there with an electric pencil for ID if it was stolen. I hope someone can shed light on this.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIM_(rifle)#Garda_Versions

These rifles were issued to the Romanian Patriotic Guard ("G" stands for Garda which is Romanian for Guard). The Patriotic Guard was sort of a combination of what we know as the National Guard and the communist young pioneers and was mandatory service for young men and women. And yes, they were issued in semi-auto only... the tail of the disconnector was cut off which only allowed them to fire semi-auto despite having all the other full auto parts and 3rd hole in the receiver (for the auto sear). If they ever wanted to convert them to selective fire, they would simply replace the disconnector and add the auto sear.

G builds are not worth a whole lot more than a WASR. I'd say you've got something worth $400 - $500.

I have 3, myself, though two of them have had their G's removed.

Well all I can say is 'G' oh heck add whiz to that.

Blender, that sheds the light on it for sure. Thanks. BTW do you have any info on the date period they were issued?
