I've lived in Oregon my whole life, I've seen it go from a hard working, traditional family values, God and country first place to raise your kids and make a good life for yourself state, to a Leftist God hating, anti-family, elitist snob, counter culture in a generation.
I just hit the mother load recently while having a heated discussion with a "pro-gun" liberal who is supporting every left wing politician commited to abolishing our 2nd amendment rights...........I think this is one the final signs of the end, just waiting for the four horsmen and the plagues,...LOL:lol:
Where in Oregon are you at?

Just outside the boarder of the stinking, hairy armpited, sodom & gamora wanna be town of Eugene, luckily Springfield isn't frequented to much by the leftist snobs because we aren't worthy of them,.....LOL
Eugene is second only to Portland for that. As soon as you get away from the Willamette Valley (and, er, Ashland and maybe Bend...) things get better. Fewer Leftists and more folks that work for a living.
Don't worry, I've got Portland covered from here...

LOL, funny how having to work for a living changes your point of view in life doesn't it?......LOL:lol:
Yep - I dont live there, never have and I've seen that coming years ago. Oregon wins the liberal donkey award!
I don't know about that...I still think Kalifornia and Washington can be worse, not even getting into the Eastern candidates like New England.
It always seems worse than you'd like it though.

:blink:Oregon has always prided itself on being progressive or a trendsetter for others to take notice of(remember Tom McCall),but in recent years they(the new invaders-ouslanders)have come into this state with they're own (older)ideas, brought from those areas where they "immigrated" from and now are trying to force they're adgendas on our way of life.If you do the research on Oregon, the original pioneers here wanted a region(prior to statehood)that was free from government control and the big land barrons of the eastcoast. The people were very independent, and conservative. Now we seem to have assumed the status of being annexed as a part of Kommiefornia!

O.K., soapbox time again for me,........
Here's what really frosts my tomatoes!
Every open minded, brain dead liberal from back east or California comes to MY state saying, oh, we just love it here, it's so different here than where we came from, we never want to leave!
Then they run for city, or state office and start to initiate plans to make Oregon more like the stinking armpit they came from!
If you're home sick and don't like the way we do things here,.....GO HOME!!!
We did just fine without your liberal, progressive crap!
Do you think the loggers and millworkers were the ones that wanted this to be a liberal, progressive state? Hell no, it was the spoiled college students and arrogant leftist college proffesors from back east who came to so many small college towns here in Oregon and STOLE this state away from the people who broke their backs to build it and make it a wonderfull place to raise a family!
Now we have to deal with anarchists, gay pride extremists, God hating, America hating left wing outsiders taking this state over through our colleges, I am sick of it, absolutely sick of it to my core......
The exact same thing is happening in of all States, Idaho. The libatards from Kommiefornia are invading saying the same thing, it's so wonderful here. They f*@$ed up California so bad they want to leave and now they want to do the same to Idaho. I wish the retards would just stay where they belong and fix their own State!

Oregon isn't the only state by any means. Montana, Idaho, Washington, even Nevada...I heard Lost Wages was particularly hard hit by the real estate collapse.
Yeh, we often want to keep it quaint but then also want to make improvements so that we can feel at home. Bozeman MT is a perfect example of how people change things.
I'm all for people moving here as long as they adopt the prevailing lifestyle and not change stuff.
Mirrors my attitude toward immigration in general.
I am hoping for 365 days of cloudy rainy skies. Maybe then some would move out. Smaller population would make things more manageable. The west side of Portland area has boomed with multitudes, getting 12 miles takes now a 1/2 hour sometimes.

Mini-14, you are on the x-ring about Idaho. When I got out of the Army, I moved there to WORK in the woods cruising and marking timber. Bought a house and garage on a decent lot in the Panhandle for $33k. Next thing you know, Kali, Oregon and Seattle/Spokie plates all over, buying up the houses. Things got out of control, drive-thru coffee huts on every corner (in Kellogg!) and retarded drivers everywhere! Best thing that came out of that was housing prices, got out of rising taxes by selling for $107k (in 3 1/2 years!), moved back to the U.P. and bought 60 acres with a trailer, garage and pole barn. Not going back, except to elk hunt if they don't close down all the bush roads.
They're doing their best to erase all the old logging roads they can around here. Seems stupid to me...unless there is some traffic they get pretty overgrown in less than 10 years anyway. And if they have to fight a fire some roads might help some. Anyone ever try to hunt a road that's had a 'dozer drag its blade back and forth as it backed its way out a logging road? Freakin near impossible. It was easier to go cross country.

Thanks to all the tree-huggers and bunny-kissers, the Forest Circus is trying to "reclaim" as many roads as possible to keep motorized vehicles from accessing back-country areas. They do, however, encourage horsey riding and hiking, and you know hay-burners are green enough to operate where the Prius can't go.;)
The way the roads were torn up that I saw here, I wouldn't take a horse I wanted to keep over them. Big waste of money and time as far as I'm concerned. Good thing it isn't widespread yet, but I hear the feds put more money aside for it...
I can take them up out of Cochran and try to show them the old remnants of homesteads and roads. One has to look pretty hard to find the old logging town. IMHO the roads last about 10 years before the trees take them over if they aren't being used. I like walking down them for hunting SO leave them alone! No need to drag a blade across them, nature is pretty quick to take over. Remember when they thought that it would be centuries before the carnage of Mt St Helens eruption?
I was up there years ago when I was still SCUBA diving...buddy and I explored the pond there. Lots of weeds and salamanders, and some unidentifiable equipment. Lost a fin in the weeds.

You are lucky that isn't all you lost:) We pulled an elk out that decided to die there after being shot (revenge I suppose) and ended up with some of those nasty leeches, which I was under the assumption that there are none around here. Surprise!
You are lucky that isn't all you lost:) We pulled an elk out that decided to die there after being shot (revenge I suppose) and ended up with some of those nasty leeches, which I was under the assumption that there are none around here. Surprise! They don't cotton to wetsuits. Water's freakin' cold up there! Warmer than Timothy Lake though. I went down toward the dam. The daylight ran out at 65ft and so did the wetsuit's ability to keep me warm. Good eatin' crawdads in there. All the old trail and camp markers and stuff are still down there from before the dam.
The liberals that aren't, and the conservatives that weren't, call each other names in phrases composed in think tanks, viewed from well crafted states of indoctrination. One side, yours, is good and the other side is evil. So the quality of our debate has all the freshness of an old popeye cartoon.
Media forces are working to make us into attack dogs for our side, we know almost no facts that are real, yet we are completly sure of our point of view. This seems to me an attitude war fought by posers. If they make you feel like your some kind of victum of the other side, then we can get all emotional about it and wax poetic about a mythic America that never existed beyond the pages of our high school history books and our fading memories.
I can't think of anything more damaging to us than these divisions, unless its like a really huge zombie invasion, but if that happened we would put down our differences for a time.

The problem with Oregon is the Kalifornia Soviet Socialist Republik! We are so close to that Stalinist cesspool that we have the smell here all the time! We have been thoroughly Kalifornicated.
Just the housing prices, and there's been a partial correction. Californians move here to get away from Kalifornication.

I second that. All the gun hating DCers are starting to move to Alexandria and other parts of Norther Va.
I understand you live in pro-life center of the WORLD!! you did to move up to the Clackmas area!!
Referring to....who? There are a handful on here that are in Oregon.
I am sorry, new to all of this. I was trying to respond to mrblackguns.
OK, he's not on at the moment, but Oregon isn't really, Planned Parenthood is alive and well here. The problem with the pro-choicers is they habitually reject the choice of life. If it isn't a method of abortion, they don't consider it a choice. That said, the pro-lifers have their own issues, IMO one of which is taking higher judgement into their own hands. Assassinating doctors and nurses and bombing clinics is criminal activity no matter what the rationalization. Late-term abortion without compelling mother survival issues should be grounds for criminal indictment IMO, but earlier abortions are probably best handled on judgement day, again IMO.
This is as much religion as the forum will tolerate. Back to guns.
Perfectunion BBS,
I am new to all of this, and if I did wrong, I am sorry.I just thought it would be nice to talk to others about gun stuff. Agian i am sorry for my stupidity!
You're not stupid, I just skirted the ragged edge and didn't want others to go further with it. The forum is "tech only" and if all goes well, maybe the Politics forum will open up after New Years. Maybe it will stay civil awhile this time!
Pro choice or pro life. And as Mark stated, there are a few Oregonians in Perfect Union.
