Well, you guys seen the before pic:

Now, that is NOT the same stock. I had a stock that had never been finished, and that is what I used. I used the handguards that came with the gun, however. I think it turned out pretty decent.

very nice! you said those handgaurds came with the gun? they match perfectly with the new stock!

turned out really nice! i'm in the same boat. i've got a mint stock & hardware set from an 03A3 that a great uncle made a sporter out of back in the 50's. found the parts in his basement close to 30 yrs ago & been hanging onto them all these years. might find a suitable barrel/receiver combo & put it together someday. is that M-1 a CMP purchase??
