View Full Version : Dovetail Sight Adjustment
Does anyone know of a mechanical sight adjusting tool to adjust the rear dovetail sight on a pistol that don't cost an arm and a leg. I have tried to adjust it with a hammer & drift but it just don't move it accurately enough. Any help or tips or home made rig ideas (which is what I'm considering) would be appreciated.:)
I was going to suggest to look at Midwayusa but I went there to see what they had and WOW!!!, the cheapest thing is $30 and I don't know if it would workfor your situation. And I agree, pounding them over with a drift (I have a plastic one) isn't for the faint of heart.
I may have to check out midwayusa. I looked at Brownells and almost passed out....$599.00!!
Which pistol?
I've not heard much good about "universal" sight pushers, but those designed for a particular pistol have always received better reviews. I have a pusher for the M&P line made by MGW and it's been a great investment.

One is a PT92 Taurus and the other is a Kahr CW9.
MGW makes a sight pusher for the Taurus/Beretta 92 and it runs about $80.00 at Top Gun Supply and at Brownells. I've never come across a pusher specifically for the Kahr, but Brownells lists a P500 universal sight pusher for $104.00. No recommendations possible on the universal as, again, I've never used one.
