This is my Beretta 92 project.
92 FS with a WOR4 Tacrail. This tactical rail attaches to the pistol with no gunsmithing and provides an upper rail for optics and a lower rail for flashlights/ lasers aimers.
I am currently waiting on a suppressor for this rig. A Burris fastfire red dot will eventualy ride topside. Rails will accept all picatinny/ weaver attachments. The pistol can be field stripped without tools and irons are still usable.
Anyone know where I can find a holster for this? IWB ???:)
I like the idea but the price was pretty scary!:D

I came across this picture from Survival Consultants. I have been drooling over this since last month. I hope my economic stimulus check shows up in the mail soon so I can pimp my beretta like this.

I'm admittedly a simplicity guy, but this set-up intrigues me. I've thought about getting a twin of my carry piece for the nightstand, outfitted with a light, laser, night sights, or all three.
I'm assuming there's virtually no holster (except for maybe a super-universal shoulder holster) that would allow you to conceal. If that assumption has any merit, wouldn't the whole rig benefit from a longer barrel? Are such barrels made?
My guess-answer is that this is purely for in-home defense as opposed to long-distance shooting, and that a longer barrel would impede maneuverability inside the home. But of course I'm just guessing. Any thoughts about either concept?

Here is the european version of this Idea.
With a Red Dot sight mounted, my Tac Rail equipped Beretta 92 can consistently hit 6" steel plates at 100 meters. That was almost impossible for me to do with a stock, iron sighted M9. The added weight also tames recoil efficiently and aids in faster follow-up shots. I havent had this much fun with a pistol .
This is my new favorite nightstand gun. The rails allow for laser aimers, tactical lights , optics which adds versatility. It is also bulky that It would be hard for teenage kids to take this rig to "Show and Tell". This rig is purely defensive, plus it looks TACTI-COOL.
Besides, who wouldnt like a gun that is nicer than the one used by " Solid Snake" in the video game " Metal Gear Solid"

Gotcha. Always looking for a reason to acquire another component of my "Homeland Security Preparedness Kit" (NOT "toy"), and this set-up would be perfect to justify another version of my carry piece for purely in-home use.
If only my state permitted sound suppressors.:( Maybe one day . . . a man can dream, after all.
I think this has helped me finally understand the purpose of rifle-type "pistols" like the PLR-16 and the various AK and AR pistols. After all, that's pretty much exactly what I was describing (unknowingly) by your 92 having a longer barrel.

That would be a nifty spot for the rail mounted bic lighter I have been thinking about.

That would be a nifty spot for the rail mounted bic lighter I have been thinking about.
Bic lighter used as tactical grip, Must register as an AOW with this option installed. The Bic lighter adds balance and versatility, convenient in lighting blasting charges, firecrackers ,setting fire to enemy villages, barbeque grills and navigating caves in Afghanistan with low light ( Gen 1 NV goggles work well)as not to spook terrorist. I have used it recently in making smores in a covert mission with the local cubscouts.
You can also detach the lighter and set it up like a claymore. Just shoot it with this super accurate rig and watch it blow up . :D
