What double-stack .45's are out there? Full-size autoloader, prefferably non-1911 unless it is known to be reliable with non-FMJ ammo (i.e. HP / JHP)

Thanks.

To get you started, HK USP and Glock 21.

The XD 45 and G21SF are both top notch. FNs got a new one out as well that looks pretty interesting.

It's been 100% reliable using any factory ammo, in fact any combination of factory ammo in the same magazine. And, out-of-the-box accuracy is noteworthy.

Sig P220 is by far the best choice in my opinion. Glock 21 is a solid shooter also.

I've done well with the Para Ordnance line...I've owned a P12.45 and currently own a Carry 12. Both have reliably fed whatever I've given them. Wolf 230 gr FMJ, Winchester white box 230 gr FMJ, Federal Self Defense 165 JHP, and Federal HydraShok 165 JHP.

I'd definitely consider getting a P14.45 Limited or other full-size frame .45 from them.

S&W M&P 45 would be one I'd recommend. It's accurate and reliable and with the adjustable palm swells, can be tailored to your grip.

Depends on your price range. An XD 45 is a good value whereas with the HK you will be looking at some serious dough.

The new XD-M is coming out soon in .40. I think they are going to come out with other calibers after that. Hopefully they wont neglect the .45ACP crowd.
