I am a big fan of the M&P Pistol line and I own two of them at the moment: a M&P 40 and a M&P 45. However, what you are about to see is fugly.

Here is S&W idea of a 14 round magazine for the M&P 45:

I really don't know what they were thinking.

Is that for real? It'd look much better with just 2 inches of magazine sticking out.

It's for real and it's fugly. I'm going to have to pass on the 14-rounders. :)

I concur. Fugly...yes

Fugly? Perhaps.
But is it functional?

My opinion,
The M&P is a nasty looking firearm.
That 14 round extended mag, accentuates an all ready ugly firearm.

Get a Glock!

Uhm...not a chance.
At least the M&P looks ugly, the Glock doesn't look like anything at all, kind of reminds me of the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. You know, 1x4x9?

But if you REALLY want 14 rounds of .45ACP, what about the Para-Ordnance P.14?
Okay, the grip is large enough width wise where you'd need the mitt of a gorilla to fire it (certainly not meant for my girly hands), but it's not long and ugly like the M&P!

Mmm...delicious tacticool 1911 in Coyote Brown. Now THAT's a good looking gun.

Yeah, and that 1911 weighs a ton, too. Get a Glock.

You already have my answer.
Enough with the shenanigans.

Perhaps they were thinking that one could use the pistol as a boomerang if out of ammunition??:wacko:

I'm a big fan of Para Ordnance. Used to own the P12.45 (12+1), but traded up for the stainless Carry 12 (also 12+1). I have big paws, so the wider double-stack grip works really well for me. It's a tad on the heavy side, but not too bad. If I got the chance, I'd definitely pick up the the Hi-Cap Limited .45 in stainless. I've got nothing against Glocks, just prefer the 1911 style/function, and I'm a big fan of the LDA on the Paras.

This is where people have a hard time though...

The 1911 is a firearm for those whom want a work of art consisting of lots of little hand fit parts...a Rolex if you will.

The Glock is a tool purpose built for combat of the modern age, fitting replacement parts when your work bench is a mud puddle...an Ironman if you will.

They are both great firearms and both serve their purpose and honor their respective fan base. I prefer Glock as I want function and don't care how it looks as long as it keeps doing its job. Wouldn't mind actually owning a nice 1911 though.

Firearms are like clothes, everyone likes a different style and size (dimensions, caliber, etc.).
Find what you like, and run with it!

I thought they were abit unpretty from the get-gop but that little addition is just another moll on the Rosie O's backside. :P

Have you tried the XD45? 13+1 capacity, light, accurate, reliable.

We've sold 500 XDs (all calibers/configurations) now out of our store, with ZERO warranty issues. I can't say that for 1911s or M&Ps.

I know I have had absolutely no interest in the XD line since it first appeared as the HS2000. It's just not an option for me.

I will wait on the FNP-45 and add it to my small collection of .45s.

Ugly and beautiful all at the same time! Aesthetically, it's a beast, but if it reliably puts rounds consistently on your target, well, that's just a beautiful thing!

All that para needs is a kitchen sink and a kickstand and it will be perfect, LOL:lol:
