I have both. I like both. If the Browning feels better to you, I guess that would be the tie breaker.
Or you could just buy both and one would be in your right hand and the other in the left hand as you mow down them pop cans or paper targets.
It's all good....

Hate to hijack, but I have a question,

I Bought my father a Browning Buckmark Camper. It has the plastic rear sight base. I have been reading, and apparently all other models of the Buckmark have the metal rear sight base. Does anyone know where I can find a metal rear sight base and sight to replace the plastic unit? Brownells has the parts listed, but I can not tell if they are plastic or Metal.

Also, the buckmark is having cycling problems. It will reliably cycle with hyper-velocity ammunition, but will only cycle properly with High velocity ammunition if you do not let the muzzle jump at all. The way you have to hold the grip so that it reliably cycles high velocity ammunition is by holding the bottom of the grip with your off hand and pulling towards you. Hyper-velocity ejects a few feet away, while high velocity ammunition only ejects a foot away. It appears that a very heavy mainspring is what is causing the cycling issues. I currently have around 200 rounds down the barrel (100 rounds of hyper velocity and 100 rounds of high velocity). About how much longer until the mainspring wears in, or is it possible that I got a heavier wt than standard mainspring, and need to buy a new one?

Aside from those issues, both my father and I really enjoy that pistol. I also own a Ruger MKII 5.5" Bull Barrel and really enjoy that one also.

Buckmark vs. MKII
The Buckmark seems to be slightly better ballanced for me, allowing more natural accuracy. The MKII seems to have more accuracy potential, but it is harder for me to acheave that accuracy. I really like both of them and think that both are great guns.

Note on MKIII's:
If you decide on a Ruger MKIII, you will want to get the Volquartsen MKII hammer. This will remove the magazine disconnect feature. The reason that I suggest this is that the magazine disconnect feature in the MKIII increases the trigger pull wt.
