1911 rear sight

i've got the novak sight and the slide is cut. the sight fits in there really snug, infact I can't even push it in half way by hand, should I just hammer it in? Also i've got a front blade sight, how do I get it off?

You either need a sight tool or a modified "c" clamp. If you hammer it in place you risk misalignment.
