Here is a hog I took with my mini 14 and 65 gr Sierra spbt. I handload these with 22 gr of Reloader 10, shot this one just below the ear and dropped him in his tracks. A buddy of mine has a hunting lease in Texas and this time of year they go down and clear out some of the varmits. We shot 29 hogs in 4 days with a group of 10 people, most hogs were taken with a 22-250 but this one was a mini 14 at 10 yds. I was in a stand and he was one his way to a feeder with a buddy behind him. I shot 4 or 5 times at his buddy on the run but they are tough rascles to bring down, no blood trail on most, even the one that drop.:D This was the biggest hog of the hunt, we guessed just over 200 lbs maybe. My 30-06 would not sight in but the mini 14 stepped up.;)
