Hope you are aware that the side blast from a 'brake is not always appreciated on range....a bit LOUD and shakes your pals up....not the most friendly...as I have found the hard way...now use a moderator.

OK! I have to admit that the brake looks pretty vicious, however something is missing.
Where are the details? Who makes it? Where can i get one? How much $$$?
How much trouble was it to install?

Talk to Andy Banner....first class craftsman....+44527 832549
He makes these brakes. Mine simply screws onto the muzzle (rather tightly)... same thread as my T8 Moderator, both of my 700s are proofed for same...223rem, 308win.

Picture is of my SPS Varmint before I re-stocked. fitted scope etc. See galary for finished product ...quite a tack driver.

justinlemieux, I'm assuming that's a McMillan stock, which one and how much was it out of curiosity?

Supposing I don't want to ship my barrel off to the UK, and it seems like a standard threading, you think most gunsmiths would be able to attach it if I were to have it shipped over?

I would of thought that your best approach would be to talk to Andy first.

I would imagine he would want to know if your barrel is threaded already and if not, tell you what thread to have cut on it by your 'smith. He would then cut the brake to suit. My rifle was cut by my local 'smith to suit my brake....specialist lathe job.

I did have to make an adjustment to the thread on the brake because it was too tight so I bought a die to cut it about another quarter of a turn. Cut a little and try routine...very easy. My brake must be horizontal as you look at it in my picture....called tuning.

Hope this helps.

i was gonna go with the same stock for my 700sps-v, gotta start saving up, but first im trying to mount a new scope on to it, i bought a BSA and turns out its a piece, i got exited when i saw the price($120) and its high power 6-24 and its illuminated recticle, it was my first rifle so bought the scope and got leupold base mounts and rings, went shooting and could not get the scope sighted at all i got pretty damn close i got it at 25 yrds then 50 and when i got to 100 it was all over the place, and they claim to be shock proof but i think thats the problem, the 700 is chambered in .308 so im guessing its the scopes bad quality. now, i have a quick question....im trying to find a new scope i still want the high power cause im going for a 1000yrd shot and im trying to find a good scope thats gonna cost me $300 or so, so if you guys can help that would be great.

I use Nikon Monarch 3 scope 8-32X50 in BDC...from https://www.theopticzone.com/ Tammi and Jon are great on service....and you are in the right country. :)

On my 308win Remy 700 I have Farrell Industries base and PRW Leupold rings (low) sourced from Brownells...to shoot accuratley at 1000 you cannot scimp on cost/quality. You will need 20MOA base for that range due to bullet drop of 308win.

thats a really nice set up how much you pay for the mag conversion kit? and what kind of stock did you throw on to it?....the silencer....dont you need to drop the muzzle velocity to 1000fps? so the bullet doesnt crack, or was the guy telling me that bull****ing me?

HS Precision Mag conversion, mags and PST 025 stock from Brownells. Br Reflex T8 with 8.5mm bore...suits my 223rem and 308win remy 700s. Yes you will always get a crack from a HV round no matter what calibre. Reducing MV below sound barrier reduces effectiveness, but yes, the crack goes below 1050fps.
