Exactly that, I've got an '03 Springfield - NOT an '03A3 - Serial Number 857XXX that I'd like to trade for a reloading set-up for either 7.62x51mm or 5.56mm. If the deal is right, I'll just take the press and various accessories minus the dies. Or... if you have something else hanging around gathering dust - like a 1911.... we could talk about that, too.
The deal on this rifle is that i received it in a trade, and basically don't have any use for it. I think the guy that had it had watched "Saving Private Ryan" once too many times and wanted to turn it into a sniper rifle.... Hence the lack of iron sights and B-Square" scope mount.
The receiver and everything is in GREAT shape with beautiful bluing, no visible rust or pitting. The 4-groove barrel on the other hand is dark.... not terrible by any means, but if you really wanted to make a shooter out of it, I'd think about a new barrel. The stock is a Boyds replacement walnut stock that the guy chopped by about an inch and a half and put a recoil pad on.
I figure this rifle wouldn't be a great one to sell at the shop, as it would only really appeal to the *right* person.... and that person would probably be the type to have a reloader hanging around that they hadn't used in years. So that's my deal. If you're interested or have any other questions, let me know...
Of course all transfers need to be legal, through an FFL, blah, blah. If you happen to be close to southern Nevada, we can save on shipping and transfer costs.
