:( Doc, I won't go into all the details but my ghost ring sights from R&R Arms took almost two weeks to get and that was after they claim it was shipped twice when it was not. Got it from them in one day after Visa told them I wanted my money back.
Anyway, the package and literature say the sights are for a Win. 94 AE and I have a win. 94 AE Trapper so I figure it should work just fine....NOT!
When I put on the Ghost ring it seems great. Then I tried the low plastic post because it's the same height as the new front sight they sent me. It's way to low and when I look through the Ghost ring my original rear sight is in the way so I had to remove it. It was on the lowest setting.
My original front sight is much higher than the one that Ghost ring sent me so I put it back on and now I have a great sight picture but I haven't shot it yet.
Now for the big problem! If I tighten down the Ghost ring there is no way the bolt will move with the lever (You can't begin to cock the gun) The Ghost ring holds it tight. If I back the screws off just 1/2 turn everything works great.
I really don't want to send it back and go through all this again so how about if I place a small shim under each side with a hole in them for the screw?
I'm about ready to pull my hair out! Thanks for any help or tricks you may have. Sorry for the long crying session:( Mike
Just a second thought.... How about taking a dremmel with sanding rotor to the inside contour of the Ghost ring instead of shims?
