Pitted bore?

Last week I shot my Turkish Mauser with some corrosive ammo and I did not get to clean it until the next day and I noticed a small amount of what looks like pitting in the bore. Can I get something like bore paste and remove it if it is not too bad? Alot of it came off with Hoppes #9 and copper solvent.

Some JB Bore paste and Kroil, both from Brownells, would be the best. Once it's all clean you can follow up with a patch wrapped around a brush and apply some polish like Flitz, or other polish from the dish washing section of the grocery store before a light coat of oil.

Use both the bore paste and the kroil or one or the other?

Yep, mix them together in a dixie cup or something. Just a little of each so that it remains paste like.
