View Full Version : Clamp Upgrade Kits are now available!
For those of you who purchased Accu-struts during the beta phase, the upgrade parts for the clamps are now available in the Accu-strut Store. This upgrade should eliminate any tendency for the strut to travel along the barrel from recoil. The parts are precisely machined, deburred by hand, and finished in high-quality black oxide. Offered at a very reasonable price of $21.50 per set. http://accu-strut.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=A

I could use some advice on this accustrut. Seems like a great product and I want one, I just cannot decide if it would fit my mini. KKina has said I could send it back if it did not, but I dont want to waste anyone's time with this. And how could I part with a product which would help me be a little more accurate?
So i've got a 187 series ranch rifle. And i'm wondering if I should get a new gas block which would acomodate the accustrut or just put it on the stock one i've got now.
Below is a picture of my gas block just so you all have a visual of what i'm talking about

thanks for your regard and opinion on this matter

Is there some reason to think a 187-series gasblock is different than the ones Ruger currently offers? That looks the same as our 580-series block. I'm virtually certain the Accu-strut would fit just fine.
Anybody with a 187 buy a 'strut, perhaps could chime in.

It just seems there is a groove that the strut fits in on the 580's whereas on my 187 there is some metal that would be in the way. But if it's gonna fit thats very exciting!:D:D:D
I just got a testimonial from a customer with a successful range report of the strut on a 184-series (he went from 4-inch+ to 1-inch groups at 50 yards with iron sights). You should be good to go!

I have a 197 series, which I think is the last before Ruger ditched the old machines for the new CNC stuff, and it fits perfectly.
I added the Amega scout rail and a muzzle brake to my Mini, along with a scope, so its noticeably heavier than a stock Mini, which would of course dampen the recoil, and I used the alcohol swabs and the loc-tite which was sent in the additional mailing, and my strut hasn't moved at all, so I'm think I'll skip these new clamps.

just got my clamp upgrade and WOW!!! i will be taking to the range this coming weekend and by the looks of it... it looks very promising :)
i doubt i will have anymore slippage... definitely an improvement over the beta clamps  and even though it did not come standard i highly highly recommend everyone pick one up if you own a beta strut.
thanks again kev
