Howdy folks – I am planning to replace the black synthetic furniture on my DSA, STG58 Austrian FAL with Israeli wood furniture (hand guard and stock) and I am wondering if there are any surprises waiting for me. Is this going to be a straight forward replacement operation or is (are) demons lurking in the shadows that I should be aware of? Your experiences and expertise will be greatly appreciated. :usa:

Handguards. Piece of cake. Buttstock? Can be a challenge without the right tool. Here's an example of the proper tool.

The recoil spring is in there and its under tension. :D

Thanks for your help Ostrobothnian. I have the stock tool sitting on the work bench. Just waiting for the parts to arrive. :usa:

As long as you ordered Izzy "light barrel" furniture, everything should fit just fine.
If you'r trying to use the more commonly available and cheaper Izzy "heavy barrel" furniture, you'll also need the larger hand guard retaining ring, which requires pulling the barrel from the reciever to install.
