A few thumbnails of my new Baby Desert Eagle in .45 ACP. This gun is constructed of all steel, and shoots like a dream. If your looking for a well built, semi compact .45 for under the $500.00 mark, you can't go wrong. Magnum Research builds a very solid weapon for the money. Bill T.

I went out to the desert early last Sunday morning to crank it up. The gun ran flawlessly! And I mean flawlessly. Not one FTF, FTE, or stovepipe. The empty cases eject forcefully, but with zero denting or damage. I really lucked out. The sights are dead nuts with a six o'clock hold at 25 yards, (25 paces with my size 14's). Recoil is very light which I predicted because of the guns 40 ounce weight. I put a total of 200 rounds thru it, mostly CCI Blazer Brass because thats what I had the most of. I also ran Remington UMC, Magtech, Federal American Eagle, and some old Western yellow box 230 Gr. Ball I had thru it. All went bang without a hitch. This gun really doesn't give a damn what you feed it. Next time out I'll try some of the high priced self defense stuff with large hollow points and big meplats. I have no doubt it will run fine with any ammo. The recoil spring is heavy, and I think if the gun were to have a FTF it would be with too light of a load, (target ammo). But thats fine because it's a service pistol, not a target weapon. All 4 Magnum Research magazines that I purchased fed well. Zero problems as well. The safety lever was a little hard to operate, so I oiled the hell out of it, and on the way home Melanie kept clicking it on and off. After about 50 times it runs easily as well. Mel loves it and wants one! To be honest I'm really thinking about getting another one. If that doesn't testify to what kind of gun it is, I don't know what will. Anyone who buys one of these guns won't be dissappointed. The recoil in 9 MM has to be just close to nothing. In .45 ACP the gun is extremely controllable considering it's size. Magnum Research has done an excellent job with this handgun. The balance of weight with it's all steel construction, and nice semi compact size, is a perfect marriage. Grab one guys, it's all I can say. It's getting damn hard to find a good, well built .45 ACP pistol for under $500.00 bucks anymore. This one is. Plus it's built like a brick $h!thouse! Bill T.

Your pistol is actually manufactured by IWI (Israeli Weapons Industry) which was privatized from IMI (Israeli Military Industries) in 2003. I have the sub-compact 9mm and just love it! See below what else they make and you will see why it was a good choice to purchase! My 9mm has the older IMI logo with the sword .

The history of IMI goes back to the era of the British Mandate of Palestine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Mandate_of_Palestine), when the Jewish underground at the time (the Haganah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haganah)) resorted to manufacturing illegal weapons. Some therefore claim that the nucleus of IMI was formed as early as 1933 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1933).

Small firearms

Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Ltd., small arms are some of the most popular in the world. The Uzi submachine gun is arguably the most popular submachine gun in the world, because of its compact nature and reliability. Overall, the Uzi has the highest sales statistics of all modern submachine guns, worldwide[citation needed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)].
The IWI Galil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMI_Galil) is a compact assault rifle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle), along with integrating some other design features. The Negev (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMI_Negev) is IMI's main light machine gun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_machine_gun). The Jericho 941 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jericho_941) is a semi-automatic pistol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol), while the Tavor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tavor) is a bullpup (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullpup) assault rifle.
In the 1980s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980s) an American firearms designer, Magnum Research (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnum_Research), contracted IWI to re-design and manufacture a Magnum caliber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caliber) (.44 Magnum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.44_Magnum), .357 Magnum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.357_Magnum) and .50 AE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.50_AE)), semi-automatic pistol. The result was the Desert Eagle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desert_Eagle), a very powerful handgun made famous by Hollywood (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollywood) and first-person shooters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-person_shooter).
Other products are created, mainly for use by the IDF. The Uzi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uzi), however, is popular with many forces worldwide, while the Galil and Tavor are popular with counter-terrorist forces.

WORD OF CAUTION
i have the 40 and the 45 both are super guns.

on your new baby eagle and your mags,

Try not to use the slide release too much as your slide stop is a small plastic cut out in your mag. If you use it too much it will were quickly and the slide will not stay open on last round.

I learned this the hard way, I now have 2 mags that wont hold the slide open.

MAG RESEARCH will fix it but they will wont you to send the gun to them at your expense.

LIKE YOU STATED , THE GUN SHOOTS GOOD.:)
