Looks like next week we may have to deal with this. I'm going to burn my brush pile tomorrow as it is as big as a small house before we have to deal with Dean. Then stock up with gas, and hurricane rations, water etc. I don't expect so much damage from it but as the refugees come thru they buy up everything. When I escaped Rita and came thru here from Lake Charles I barely found any gass at all. It knocked out the power for a couple days here. Keep an eye on it.

Cajungeo, you're welcome in Texas, but you can leave your stinkin' hurricanes in Louisiana where they belong! Dean looks like he may become a Texican transplant too. Hope he's not as bad as his older sisters Katrina and Rita.

Yeah and there is a cool front headin' south down towards Tenn and thereabouts, when they collide you better believe big time flooding if Dean heads into the Gulf area.

If you're anywhere within a few hundred miles of the Coast, better at least stock up on certain things. During Katrina, a friend who'd evacuated had a very hard time finding gas cans . . . and he was in Memphis, TN.

Of course, to the extent oil production/gas refining might be interrupted in the Gulf, people everywhere might want to top off their tanks to avoid a price spike.

Good luck down there!

Whew! I think we dodged that bullet.

I haven't seen a hurricane go that straight before. Usually they turn north much sooner. The news said after it hits Mexico, it may turn north and go thru west Texas.
