this is my first time to post so i will start by saying howdy. Getting to the point, i run across an stg 58 built on an onyx arms inch pattern receiver. Needless to say the barrel dosent screw in right. I dont own the gun but the parts are very very nice, i'm wondering if any body has run across this before. I would like to get a metric receicver and fix it right. If it would work, a stg with a inch receiver (folding cocking handle) would be a nice setup. I look forward to talking with fellow fal nuts. Has anybody seen a metric barrel placed in a inch receiver, and does anybody know anything about Onyx Arms

Barrels are interchangable between metric and inch receivers. Inch barrels use a timing/breeching washer to get the proper torque. I have an inch barrel on a metric receiver. It runs just fine. To get the folding cocking handle on a metric receiver, you have to file/grind/mill a bit off of the receivers external guide rails so it will fit flush when folded. That is how mine is done.
