I've become leary of internet gun posts that don't have target pictures so...
25M doubletap drills w/ the midlength

250Yards w/ the CavArms. My objective w/ it is a guaranteed headshot out to 300, I've got a little bit to go, thinking of a new trigger and maybe a can.

I was thinking of a heavier BH SMK, but my brother (who has a tack driver 24" upper) was getting realy good groups w/ UMC 50g HPs. I tried it and I went from almost 2MOA to around 1. I'm still going to buy a box of the Black Hills though.

Cavalry Arms is a fine company. They do more (for their size) for the promotion of shooting sports and the RTKBA than any I can think of. They produce some fine products as well. If you don't want an adjustable stock the lower is great (and available in different colors.) It is a very good length, same size as an A1, it is more durable, since their is no link between the buffer tube and reciever, and very economical. They also make good furniture, all the furniture in the midlength is CavArms.
Take some time to browse their website.

How do you like the fixed carry handle on the Bushmaster with the shorter sight radius?

Fixed carry handles are fine...I carried and M16A1 or A2 for years so I was more used to it. I would regularly win local three gun matches with that rifle.
Unless you know you want optics of some type (and there are a lot of reasons to want them) I would prefer a fixed carry handle.
