Heading up to Centrailia WA tonight, Jim Cirillo is teaching his "Close Combat Survival" handgun course this weekend and I was lucky enough to get a spot. Going to use my Colt Commander w/ the S&W 1911 as my spare gun. Looks like it will be an informative and fun two day class.:2guns:

Got back late Sunday night, had a great time training under Jim Cirillo. Lots of practice, lots of styles of shooting done. Rained most of the time but that just added to the difficulty. I decided to run my Commander through the paces and was I disapointed. It shot fine but the stock sight came loose and the grip screws came loose after 400 rounds. I have seen that happen before on an original 1991 Colt front sight but I was hoping that the this front sight would be staked better. Well, it's going off to Jim Garthwaite in Pensilvania anyway for Heinie sights, a dehorning, and a trigger job but still disappointed for being a Colt. My S&W 1911 has been through stressfire classes, NTI, and ISPC with nothing coming loose.

Lima-Charile, I drove through Amarillo several weeks ago, east of Amarillo outside of the town of McLean right off the the freeway on old 66 I ate at a little steak house. It was packed at 7:30 on a weeknight so we decided to eat there. What a great place to eat! Wonderful food, high quality, and good service.
