This is from the mini 14 links, its an M1A stock but basicly the same as the mini. This helped me bed mine.;) http://www.imageseek.com/m1a/M1A_Bedding/

I keep getting the M1A answer too. That M1A article is about as clear as mud. Sure would like to see a sticky post with pics. Maybe some of the gunsmith members don't want to see that. As I write this reply the thread has had 266 views, so apparently there is interest.

This guy sells a video on how to bed the mini 14/30. Just email him and he set up. I think its $20 or $25, NorthWest Shooter Support. E-Mail at <Mike.W.Knifong@tek.com>.

If anybody makes contact with MIKE will you let me know. I made contact months ago and was trying to order his gun cleaning kit (TAC-JAG) and he hasn't responded since.

I bedded my Hogue stock but I did not drill as many holes as the pics on the M1 in the link. I just drill the holes in the side of the stock inside the mag well to lock the bedding compound in the stock. The Hogue stock is plenty tight when the trigger group is lock in so I did not drill anything around the top or bottom of the stock. Has anyone bought a bedding kit? That's the best way to go, it comes with clay, release agent, my kit had black/brown color, mixing stick/cups. I used the clay to fill in around my trigger group so it would not get locked up. The main areas I was concernd about getting bedded was around the recoil lugs and upper part of mag well. Coat everything good with release agent, not very hard at all. I wish I had a 580 series to work on and run all the tips and tricks to. I can post some pics of what I have already done if that would help anyone.

I have been searching these forums (and the internet at large) and this question keeps coming up about bedding the stock for Mini 14s.

The answer keeps coming up as well-"get Mike Knifongs video". Problem is, Mike seems to have gone underground.

As Jaybird notes above, Mike does not answer any emails. And in all deference to Cajuengo, I don't really find the M1A article quite clear enough for my level of understanding on the subject at hand.

Anyone know of anyway to get copies of Mike's Video? Is any other distributor seelling them?

This seems to be such an oft asked question, it would be great if we could get access to what seems to be the only demonstration video around.
