I am new to this forum. I own a mini 14, and like others, it's groups widen after just a few shots. I have been reading various posts here about way to accurize it, but I think maybe I am better off utilizing a competent gunsmith specializing in Mini 14/30. Read a lot in here about Gun Doc. Their website doesn't offer info on what they do with Minis. So, what experiences have you guys had with Gun Doc, what was done, what was the cost, and were you happy with the results. Of course, I would also like to hear about any other gunsmiths you would recommend instead.

BF,
Did you find gundoc's web site under, Great West Gunsmithing? If so, did you click on the Mini 14/ 30 bar?
Gundoc offers a multitude of improvements to the mini's.
Go back & take another gander.

I sent my Mini in for his B Package. Hes great to deal with and he does great work. Im most impressed with his trigger job.
The Gun Doc has my mini 14 as we speak. He is doing the B package on it +.
He has been a pleasure to communicate and deal with and from all of the accolades that he has received, I am perfectly confident that he will do an "outstanding" job on my mini.
His prices are fair and his attitude is top shelf (great). In fact, after I receive my mini and shoot it for a bit, I am likely to have him do some work on my Ruger 10/22. I am doing my research on that subject as we speak.
He's done 2 Minis for me, and SKS, and a AK. I've been 100% happy with all his work. Excellent workmanship and his prices are very good too. Plus, he's just a darn good guy to deal with. I'm getting ready to send him some more work too. Like IMR said, double check his Mini page, it has some good info.

I got my trigger back today from Gundoc and dryfired it once. It feels so good. I think I wet myself. Thanks Gundoc!
I have not had him do any work for me yet but what did impress me was I emailed him about possibly doing some out of the ordinary work on a gun of mine and rather than trying to fill me with BS about how it could not be done or should not be done or hard it would be to do - he wrote me back and told me in plain english on what he could do and said let's work together to see how we can accomplish what you (the paying customer, my words not his) want to accomplish.
I can't speak firsthand about his skills as a gunsmith but he sure has the right attitude.

Only very possitive things from me about gundoc. You haven't checked his website at great western gunsmithing or you would know EXACTLY what his popular packages are. He even has photos posted.
Very reasonable prices, especially for his very high quality of service.
I WILL invest in his services again, just a matter of when I can afford it.

New Member and my first post on this board.
I've had my Ranch Rifle for about 6 years now. It was one of the Stainless Laminated limited edition ones that was done by ruger for one of the distributors.
I have a fairly accurate one with less than 2" groups at 100M. It is a sub MOA with 1 flyer out of the 5 making it out to 2"... If I could only pull that flyer in...
What is Gun Docs web site. I have searched the web but do not find Gun Doc or Great Western.

I have had a trigger job accomplished on a 196 series Mini. Gundoc did an outstanding job. About a four pound break and as crisp as breaking crystal.
I had a SigArms GSR that the front sight worked loose on. I sent it to Gundoc and he had the slide back to me the same week. Removed the front sight, peened it, reinstalled and pinned it. Rock solid, the sight and his work.
I now have a Stainless Mini that has had the barrel shortened to 16.25 inches, A1 flash supressor installed, barrel has been Cryo treated, gas bushing kit from Gundoc. It has a Williams peep sight on it and I can shoot a 1.5-2.0 100 meter group all day long.
I can not say enough about Gundoc, He has answered all my technical questions and listened to my, "Hey, I thinking about........., is that possible? What would that run?" questions.
Here's a product of his work......
