Hi, Love the board guys its great! Just upgraded from my Anschutz 520 semi auto Jam 'o' matic to a rurer 10/22 with butler creek stainless barell and am thinking of a Weaver Grand Slam 3-10 x 40.... is this too much scope?

I have a Simmons Pro-50 2.5x10x50 on my Remington Speedmaster.
I bought it at a flea market for $8. I put also put a 3x9x40 on my kid's 22 Marlin auto.
The lower powers are good for low light and fast target acquisition and the higher ones are good for putting 3 shots in the same hole at range. I think a 3x10 is perfect for the 22 cal and you won't regret the Grand Slam.

Depends on your purpose. Hittin paper at 100 yards, use any of the scopes above.......... If you are going squirrel huntin.....I would get something smaller....
I have a Nikkon ProStaff 2-7X32 on my -22T Good mix all around. My $.02
Cheers lads I reckon I will go for the 3-10 as I am using it for the Possum and long distance target.
I have a Mueller 4.5x14 APV on one 10-22 and a Bushnell Legend 2x7 on another. So I don't think that's too much scope for your 10-22.
