View Full Version : Henrich biathlon stabilizer
I went out for some coyote hunting but did not see anything but a hawk and chipmunk I called up with a sqeaker.:D I decided to tune my stabilizer for optimum performance and I was very impressed. I only shot at about 85 yds, I need to measure off for 100 someday. My best groups were from 60 gr V-max with 22 gr Reloader 10 col 2.260. I did shoot well with 55 gr Sierra sp bt with 21.5 gr Reloader 7 and 50 gr Hornady with 22 gr Reloader 7.
Group A was 50 gr Hornady sxp with 22 gr RL 7 total 1.75" with 4 shots at 1.190", not bad.
Group B was 55 gr Sierra 55 sp bt with 21.5 RL 7 total 1.410" with 4 shots at 1.19", still good.
Group C, D, and E are all 60 vmax with 22 gr RL 10 with my best with group D total 1.25" and 4 shots at .75!
Group E total 1.54" with 4 shots at .704", very impress with strut and biathlon stabilizer combined!;)

Where do you have the BS mounted, have you tried moving it up or down with selected loads.
I forgot to post my target pics in last post so here they are.
The BS has 2 rubber contact pads that touch the barrel, no metal to metal contact. I have it in the middle between the front site and gas block about an 1 1/2" from the muzzle. This seems to work well with these 3 loads, the groups C, D and E are all the same except for the scope adjustments. Groups C was finally on for 100 yds but the wind was blowing in 15-20 mph gust and I was shooting off the hood of my truck.;) I also used a bore snake to clean the barrel between groups but I did not clean between groups D and E. Group E was the 1st group I shot then D then C making scope adjustments.

Move that baby around and you may just amaze yourself.
This was the 4 position I tried and liked what I saw but I know there are a few more spots I need to try before I say this is the best place.;)

Hey tri70, You ever try Nosler BT's in that thing. Or is your mini like mine and not do well with "Boat Tails".
So far my CZ 221 Fireball shoots the Nosler BT's better than Hornady V-Max. I am going to try some Sierra BlitzKings next.
I like the Nosler bt 55 gr with 24.5 gr of H335, they were my go to round. If I adjust the BS in a different spot they will produce groups like these as well. Here is a target with the Nosler before I used the BS. I need to try them as well, maybe next weekend.http://perfectunion.com/vb/showthread.php?t=54501
