I love the thing. Got it to the range last weekend and ran 200 flawless rounds through it. Did around a 6" group at 25 yards and with more range time could probably half that...it's been a few months since I had time to get to the range. Let me know what you guys think!
is that the instruction manual beneath it?

....nope...just a paper decorative box.

21 oz. unloaded and 30 oz. loaded. It has a 4" barrel.
Rsidner, nice glock you got there, my first was a 19, then a 23 now a 21, considering a longslide next.

Very nice. Glocks are like a disease. You get one and they just replicate.
Very nice. Everyone should have a token Glock.

Currently I have only a G22 but the G19 is next on the list with either the G23 or a G21(SF?) after that.

You'll be very happy with the G19. Since I am a whore for standardizing, I'll only be getting the 9mm glocks. Probably 3x G19's and 1-2x G26's.

I think your philosophy rubbed off on me. I've been doing a lot of reading about the relative effectiveness of 9mm vs. the other popular calibers, and while I would never try to argue that the 9mm is MORE effective than the higher calibers in most cases, it really does seem like (provided you use good ammo), it's so close in its effectiveness and stopping power that it really is good enough. Jeff Quinn, Chuck Hawks, Massad Ayoob, Evan Marshall (see this article: http://www.neiassociates.org/caliber.htm ), and others have convinced me that while 9mm may not be the "most powerful", it is plenty adequate for the task at hand. So I've decided to standardize on 9mm as well. Just got my second one, and do not have any plans right now to buy other semiauto calibers. Not because I'm against the others or even that I don't enjoy shooting them, but like you I see the values of standardizing on one caliber, and the 9mm for me is the most economical, I can shoot it well, and it is good enough to do the job.
Down the road, for a more powerful gun to use as a trail gun, I also want to get a .357 revolver, but that's probably it for my pistol collection, unless I add some kind of .22LR for target practice.
Now the next question is: since you are a standardization of calibers advocate, do you also have some kind of 9mm carbine that can fire the same cartridges as your handguns? I'm wondering whether it would be a good idea to consider the Ruger 9mm carbine, or perhaps one of the AR uppers.
My understanding is that, with the semiauto calibers, although it can be effective to shoot them with a carbine, you don't gain as much velocity and energy by using a carbine with a semiauto cartridge as you do with a regular revolver cartridge like the .357 or .44.

There is an AR that uses standard 9mm glock pistol mags as well as the G18 mag(33 roounds). I forget who makes it though. Now that I got a G19, however I will find it to post for you if you are interested.
Edit.........Here it is:

The Glock 19 is an outstanding gun. Do you have another one on layaway yet?

HAHA! Not yet...got other things to worry about first.

If I do end up getting a pistol caliber carbine (which I am really not sure about) it will probably be a Kel-tec 2000 that takes glock 9mm mags.

What marking does you barrel have on it? I just got my G19 recently and it has a VERY slick new finish on it along with a angled ramp at the top part where it locks up with the slide. It has a number "1" between the Glock logo and the pentagon. Just curious. I LOVE it BTW :D

Couple of questions about your new Glock:
1. Have you tested it from a rest at 25 yards? I'm curious how well these do.
2. What do folks to to minimize the risk of an AD during CC? I assume there are certain Glock-specific holsters that will somehow protect the trigger area.
Hope you enjoy the new pistol!

As for accuracy, from offhand I grouped around 5"-6". I didn't have a lot of time or money to spend on ammo when I was at the range and I have zero days off right now so I just haven't been able to make it back for further testing and fun. With a couple hours of practice, I could likely get my groups down to 2"-3" pretty easily off of a rest.
To minimize the risk of AD you just need to carry it in any decent holster that will protect the trigger. That's pretty much it. My only problem right now is I still need a good IWB holster. I've been trying to get my stupid car fixed and don't want to spend any money on anything until I know how much this crap is going to cost me. So as it stands right now...as dumb as it sounds, I just carry Mexican with an empty chamber. Dammit...I really need a holster. <_< :D
I kind of wonder if, for a Glock that you want to use for CCW, maybe a SmartCarry holster would be one of the safest options. It'd be pretty hard for the trigger to get mashed accidentally, given the way a gun is positioned in a SmartCarry.

I have a Serpa Holster now that I really like but for CC I would look into this:

That's actually exactly what I'm planning on getting. I didn't even need to click on the link. ;)
Just picked up a new glock 19 today myself. Got two Schere mags and factory mag with it. The Schere like other schere mag's I have owned will not load the full 17 rounds. Actually only 14 with out forcing the springs down with a speed loader. Gun still shot perfect with all 3 mag's. CANT BEAT A GLOCK.
