View Full Version : Bedding Questions
The only movement I can feel is forward and back movement in the stock. Once the bedding compound is applied should I pull the reciever as far back as possible or as far forward as possible?
Second, ..Dumb question, how do I go about removing the steel glide from the stock chanel?
The only dumb questions are ones not asked.;) On the bedding you would want the lugs towards the back so the force will be absorbed by the stock. After a while the shooting might chip the bedding loose if you move it foward. I did mine mini with the liner in and only had just a little epoxy to remove from it. Are you doing a wood stock or synthetic?
Make sure you use the release agent!

To get the stock liner out first you must remove the stock reinforcement from the receiver. Just take the two screws out from the side and slide it out from the bottom. Now the forearm liner will lift out from the top.
Thank you. I had removed the stock reinforcement screws but the metal shell in the mag well over laps the glide in the barrel channel, so I can't pull it down. I'll try again when I get home tonight.
