MAJORMINUS

I recently chopped my barrel to 16.25 inches and installed a birdcage flash hider while waiting for my front strap from the Arms Room, LLC. I finally got around to shooting a few rounds to see how much I was going to have to do to re-sight after the front strap was installed. It would eject the spent round , but would not strip another from the magazine. I was using a Ruger factory mag ,home made buffer, American Eagle .223 55 gr FMJ ammo, and a gas bushing from Mike.W.Knifong (Mike.W.Knifong@tek.com). I quickly took out the buffer and that didn't fix it, so I then re-installed the factory gas bushing and that done the trick. It appears that chopping the barrel does change the pas pressure enough so that you may have to move up the size of bushing you are using if you have installed a reduced sized one.
