Mini-14 barrel compatibility

I just picked up a new/used SS barrel from ebay (my current one is dinged up from muzzle break and shroud (bought rifle used). Will I run into any problems swapping out barrels?

I'm no expert, but I'm sure this must be done by a gunsmith. It's a very particular job, where the barrel has to be matched (indexed?) to the receiver. I'm sure you'll hear from other guys on this forum who know better than me, and can give you more specific info. Good luck.

p.s. what serial number series mini did you buy? Tell us about the rifle. We're interested.
