Hi Guys-

I just joined ther forum and look forward to contributing on a routine basis and learning from those that have come before me.

I am the owner of 2 Mini 14's, one a side factory folder and the other a Blued GB ex FBI gun inbound this coming week. In 2007 I plan on getting a AC 556.

Question is one on the SHOK BUFF by Wilson Combat. I tried to install this blue poly piece last night and either the directions are in Chinese or I am Chinese trying to decipher them.

Anyone done this ? Is this a good piece to have or did I waste a 10 spot for nothing. I am not a big fan of customizing a rifle other than optics but this looked like a good internal to have.

Also, any comments on the Ciener .22 kit would be welcome.

i think i have a buffertech, its grey. just pull off your stock, pull of your slide spring with rod thingy, lol. and put the buffer in front of your receiver, put the spring with rod through the hole in the buffer and on to the pin. resassemble. i had the trim mine because my bolt would not lock back. good luck. as far as it being worth it. i dunno but in my eyes it was cheap insurance incase i ever use my scope. i didnt see much difference in recoil, i have a mini 30.

Thanks for the intel.

Maybe its the trimming part that doesn't make sense.....in my mind drop in is drop in..........will try in the morning. How do you like the Mini 30 ?

I think you are probably talking about a recoil buffer. A lot of the Guys on here have them and lots of others have made them. Also, lot of people have them front and rear. In other words for the recoil end of the op rod and for the return end, up against the gas block. You may want to read through the following thread.

Good luck to ya.

i love my mini 30, in my mind its the only way to go with the mini. 200 yrds is really my effective skill range so its perfect for me. im not really a fan of 223 either. oh btw your buffer may not need to be trimmed, mine is old and a different brand, i dont mind tinkering so it wasnt a big deal for me. i just taped some sandpaper to my kitchen table and laid the buffer down flat and sanded away. good luck
