any one using ASI's conservative package? I know that with a bedding job, the whole thing costs over twice gundocs most popular package. I'm wondering what the results are. ASI includes a new barrel. Anyone?

Sorry I haven't tried their packaged stuff, but I've bought parts from them, and they are GREAT to do business with, plus I've found their parts to be high quality and a great value. I got a laminated stock, and the adjustable gas block, both have served me well and helped to improve the accuracy of my rifle. Plus I found Carl (one of the managers or perhaps owners at ASI) to be very willing to interact via email and answer questions, troubleshoot issues, whatever. Personally, if I were doing an accurization today, my top two choices would be Gundoc (whom I favor slightly, since he already did my work and did a GREAT job) or ASI. And I'd have NO hesitation about going to ASI, if that's the kind of setup you want....they have a lot of integrity and do good work. You can probably also find somebody who disagrees with this, but my experience is they are great.

I'm using ASI now. I should receive my accurized mini-14 in January, I think. So far, I am very pleased with the personal service I have received. I do not mind paying more for a quality product.

I had a complete rifle (Mini-30) built by ASI but had not yet had a chance to shoot it. However, ASI sends a test target with the rifle since Carl guarantees that it will shoot MOA or better at 100 yards. My test target shows a 3-shot group of .785" @ 100 yards. The ammo used was Winchester Super-X 123 PSP. You can check it out in the Mini-14 Gallery. The thread is labeled ASI Mini-30.

ASI produces outstanding rifles and their workmanship is first rate. Carl Emmite is a thorough professional who will gladly walk you through your project rifle.
