Purchased a Mauser K98 "Premium Grade" and Masuer M63 "Tanker" from Mitchell's today, now it's time to go to the local dealer and start the FFL, can't wait to get my hands on them. The K98 is in 8mm as ya'll know, the M63 I got in .30-06 since it's an easier round to find, I was going to try and stay consistent and get the tanker in 8mm as well. But I bought these more for a collectors type deal than anything, I will shoot them once and a while, but not a once a week type rifle. I'll leave that to the Mini-14 I already have, and the eventual Kel-Tec SU16CA that seems to be out of stock at various dealers in my area, will wait on that one.

Pretty soon I'm going to have to purchase a safe, I'll post some photos when I get them.

Great buy! I'me sure you'll enjoy that Mitchell. Be sure to post some pics when you get it. They sure are pretty rifles!

Cool man. Do any of you guys know the difference between the "collector" grade and the "premium"? I'm fix'n to get one myself and probably will go with the collector as it's less $. That Tanker is too sweet (and tempting as all hell) l but I want a historically correct one first.

If I remember better grade stock, both condition and finishwise, more matching numbers and something about the barrel. But I was told the differences a week before I actually ordered, so don't hold me to it. Call and ask, they are friendly folk there and they will tell you all you want to know. Now the K98 has two grades, the M48 has three and the M63 is just one set condition.
