3 guesses where the author hails from. It looks just like something you'd read in a Stalinist era Russian child's book.
It is never to early to start the indoctrination.
WHOA! Me thinks this is wrong.
That's messed up. Check out the samples page.

The first story shows that the Dems are pretty much communists hiding under the guise of 'fairness and equality'.
As long as they get to define all terms, otherwise if you did the same thing it'd be racist thuggery.
Is the same tripe being taught in the public school system-in one way or another?
of course, only there, they're taught its a good thing to have universal healthcare, welfare, etc, only in simple terms Democrats can understand...

What? No outrage about the exact same thing from the Republicans?
No "WHOA! Me thinks this is wrong." or "That's messed up." or "WOW" or even "Is the same tripe being taught in the public school system-in one way or another?" ?

.......Let's see Squirrels (dems) vs. Cats (repubs), so what are the Independents? Ferrets?:D
I didn't see enough on the Russell page to decide anything...no teasers of what the story is about. At least the three major parties are represented. Similar things have been done with the old Grasshopper and the Ant story. If it is primarily about Republican values, someone should buy a mess of these books for Republican members of the House and Senate to remind them how far they've strayed...
"Russell is a Republican" might be as bad as "Why Mommy is a Democrat" (it might be worse), but I couldn't find enough information to tell. All I saw was some cover art and titles.
Do you have a link to some sample text like chrisb provided for the "Why Mommy is a Democrat" ?

Strange, I couldn't find anything else on it either... no reviews, sample text, nothing.
They must have something to hide...
Well, I'll reserve a comment on ol' Russell until after I see it. Until then, Mommy's still a socialist...

Yeah, that's exactly where I figured this was going... <_<
The point is, the D's try to influence children with politics by putting out a children's book, and some folks jump all over it.
But when the R's do the exact same thing, then it's "well, I'll reserve judgement until I learn more about it".
Yeah, right! Nothing hypocritical about that!
Well I am against "indoctrination" from either side BUT the Dems have had afirm grip on the educational system for decades and completely F'ed it up. Remember, no "tag" at recess, and I am ok and you are ok. In fact, no one is bad (except Jesus and republicans)! Not even that pedophile standing in the window...he just needs counseling! Liberals....Ugh....
Oh and hippocritical conservatives.....Ugh too.
Yeah, that's exactly where I figured this was going... <_<

I just don't think there is enough information to say its the same thing, other than the format. My objection wasn't the format, but the content, and the only good sample was of the Democrat book. When you get right down to it, kids political books are a real tightrope, all depending on how you are presenting your philosophies. I'd prefer a simple (for the kids sake) presentation without their version of the other guy's views. Keep it to the point and let the kids decide over the next several years. The worst you can do is keep hammering the kids with it. PoliSci classes will come soon enough.
