I have believed since it was passed,Real ID is the worlds biggest threat to our individual freedom and liberty.
Unfortunately the sheep dont want to think about.
But some of you guys might.

So check this out.
List of who voted for it in the House.
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2005/roll031.xml

So much for republicans protecting our freedom as they promised.
Everyo0ne who voted for this is guilty of treason and should be tried and executed.

Wow, I'm shocked to see that John Lewis (D - GA) voted against it. That guy's usually a big turd.

Well kiss my grits. I fully understand the whys as given who my customers are that we have to prove we are US citizens -- without any criminal record. I also understand the hoops I have to jump through so we can summit a request for Secret Clearance for our employees.

However, IMO this Real ID is going to be about a useful as bumps on a boar hog.

I told my daughter yesterday that I've been a R my whole life. However, this time I hope the D's take the election, as Bush just scares the chit out of me. We need some sort of check and balance and all R's just don't get-er-done anylonger.

The problem is many of the Dems who voted against it did so only to be opposition to the republicans. Their agendas are very similar but they do not want the other party to beat them to it.

Time for a third party or a revolution. You decide.

Time for a third party or a revolution. You decide.
I cannot not believe you said this. A third party I agree with. A revolution? Man o man you are as dangerous as Bush...

A revolution??? A revolution would be killing our own... and the women and children would suffer greatly.

Our system is in some trouble, but it is not that broken. You sound like one of those that want a blow up. You sound like one of those who stores weapons, food, and goods in holes in the ground in the HOPES that we blow ourselves up...

If you are I hope never see ya in the real world. If I do and you are you will know who I am right up to my country's end. Kill them all and sort it out later seems to be your answer.. well take your statement of revolution and sick it up where your short hair hide.

Revolution...??? your solutions are right up there with bumps on a boar hog... useless....

Revolution is not an answer... Get it?

Why? Is it so scary to consider all our options? Our founding fathers did their best to make it possible for us to revolt against tyrrany.

A revolution??? A revolution would be killing our own... and the women and children would suffer greatly.
I agree.

I disagree. This nation is quickly circling the drain. This nation is so far from what it was intended it would be unrecognizeable to our founders.

You sound like one of those that want a blow up. You sound like one of those who stores weapons, food, and goods in holes in the ground

No but I believe in being prepared. I am well aremd with smal arms and I am working toward making my home more self sufficient. IE generator a couple weeks worth of food, extra fuel for the furnace that sort of thing. Preperations like this come in really handy in a natural disaster.

in the HOPES that we blow ourselves up...

I sincerely hope to be free and for my countrymen to be free. Most importantly I wpuld like for my son to not have to face the attacks on liberty that we now face. But im not holding my breath.

If you are I hope never see ya in the real world. If I do and you are you will know who I am right up to my country's end.

What are you talking about

Kill them all and sort it out later seems to be your answer..

If educating people ad free discussion of ideas fail as they have in the past I most definitely support killing our opressors.

well take your statement of revolution and sick it up where your short hair hide.
I said you decide looks like you have. I sincerely hope you are right.

Revolution is not an answer... Get it?

Freedom and Liberty is my only concern. I really do not care how we achieve it.
But following the status quo will not help.

For the record to attempt a revolution now would be foolish and fruitless. To many people are comfortable with the status quo. They dont mind being subjects if they are well fed subjects.

No offense but when our forefathers revolted things were different

1: No problems with the middle east

2: The overlord was a foreign country

3: We were the immigrants in some cases

4: the weapons of the time were no where near as destructive as today

Also (no offense intended) ut you mention you have food and weapons for a couple of weeks. That is no where near enough for a prolonged revolt.

Yes I agree that this world is spiraling down the tube but I know that there is no way man can do any serious changes.

I though I was "the other dude"!

I don't know what Josh said because he's the one person here on my "ignore" list, But judging from Olds' post he's been blabbing about revolution again.

Now I don't trust Olds anymore. He keeps attacking me, apoligizing, and after I forgive him he turns around and attacks me again. But I gotta admit I have the same opinion of Josh that Olds does.

I have a feeling that despite all Josh's BS about "revolution" and "overthrow the evil government", if the bullets actually started flying he'd be cringing in a hole somewhere, sobbing and shaking.

That's what most of these types are really like, once the bravado is stripped away...

If you are to lazy to read what the thread is about please refrain from bringing your drivel into it. I imagine your opinion of me is equally as low as mine is of you. However that is not the topic of discussion here.

The Founders foresaw this occurring way back when. Failure from within, the need or inevitability of another revolution, etc. I'd caution, however, that the right time for revolution will not be decided by a small minority of folks, but a larger group that cannot be ignored, nor as easily put down. In other words, go too soon and get squashed, your headstone marked "crackpot", "traitor", or some such label. You and others may feel you cannot wait any longer, but the "right time" will be indicated by people you don't know coming to the same conclusion en masse. Remember, pick the battles you can win, and don't expend yourself needlessly. And don't forget, all of us here want the same thing in the end, we just disagree about how to get there.

Right on Josh. The Bush Administration has done much to destroy the rights of the People. The Fourth Amendment has been trashed. Of course the dems trashed the Second. The Courts have also done their share through the Years. Tthe continuing efforts of our government to enslave the people continues. Unfortunately the pace is quickening.

Hey I have a couple of pineapples that have rippened and I'm making pineapple icecream. Beats the strawberry... anyone want some?

I did two things...

1. I contacted my (Republican) congressperson who voted FOR this abomination and advised her that as a lifelong Republican, I am voting Libertarian this year.

2. I contacted my State Senator and asked them the details of how it will be implemented. Specifically, I said "I have no intention of obtaining one of these ID cards and would like to know if an old-fashioned drivers license will be issued as an alternative for folks like me."

He advised me he will look into it.

We'll see.

I am all for it. I don't see the problem with requiring a secure ID so we can tell who is and who is not a citizen. You guys are nuts.:D

Like I said I don't see the problem here. I don't trust the government like a blind sheep though. Lets just say some of my guns are not at my house or easy to find. So I got a little 'nut' in me too.

Thank you. This is the kind of action all should take. Ive written my congress critters a few letters on this subject to receive no reply.
