From Military.com website. Iraq Afghanistan Veterans Association info. The link is to Congesss' voting records on Veteran issues. Some are pretty surprising.

You would have thought the "stay the course" people would have done better.

I think Military.com has the most balanced reporting of any of the internet sights. They print both persuasions to give a look at todays events. From Ollie North to Joe Gallaway.
Plus blogs from the real troops.

Our Republican Congresswoman Emerson voted NO on this one:

Thune Amdt. No. 3704; To provide, with an offset, $20,000,000 for the Department of Veterans Affairs for Medical Facilities 05/04/2006

She'll be out after 11-7 anyway. Good riddance...

Truth is that the Government as a whole is and always has done a lousy job in taking care of the Vets. Tthose kids who lost limbs etc. will receive only minimal payments for their sacrifice while untold billions will be squandered by politicians who dole it out soley to purchase the support of various special interest groups. Jeez, I hate scoundrels.

That was a Senate bill. Both Oregon Senators voted against that, one on each side of the aisle. I wonder what there was in it they didn't like. Those Senators stick riders on those bills, and sometimes a good bill is killed to get rid of the rider, and then a new bill is introduced later to take its place, starting things all over again. Talk about wasting a lot of time.
