Here it is, my /326\, pinned barrel. This is my first non /26\ Chinese, so I am excited. Metal is excellent, all #'s match, but the stock has some "character." I had decided to stop actively seeking SKS's, unless I came across a good deal. Well, this is my cheapest one yet, $171 OTD.

SKS's in my area are drying up, so I'm really just getting what I can, while I can, but no Yugos

5 so far.

Good deal!
I can't understand why the SKS's are drying up in your area though. Do you have your C&R license? If not, get one. It is the true gateway to the SKS collectors world of adiction ;)
Your wife will kill you though for all the money you will spend with a C&R.

I actually think your stock looks pretty good. Better than most that I see in this area. In fact, the ugly furniture on SKS's and WASR's are the biggest reason they never move up on my list.

Yours looks good to me. Do you ever re-finish these things or do most people just leave them as they find them?

The stock looks good on that side, but it's the side you can't see that has all the gouges.

I have refinished a couple of SKS stocks. I have one complete stock and HG right now that would be on thisone if the #'s didn't match.

The Chinese SKS is not C&R eligible, and there's really not much that is that wets my whistle.

That being said, I still want one.

So, are you saying that it wouldn't be a good idea to re-finish a numbers matching SKS? It just seems to me that on a 2-3 hundred dollar gun it wouldn't matter. I'm just starting to explore the SKS so forgive me if this seems like a stupid question.

No, I've refinished my Russian (it was boogered up when I got it). What I was saying is that I wouldn't put my extra numberless stock on a SKS that is number matching, even though it is in much better condition.

I need a cleaning rod for it. Maybe I'm part of the reason SKS's in my area are drying up.

Damn! I knew I shoulda checked this one out better before I bought it.

All of the numbers don't match.

The one EP'd on the bottom of the gas tube differs from all of the stamped ones:P

I've dealt a lot with SKS's, and I know that finding random handguards and stocks that have matching finishes is like finding a needle in a haystack. Strangely, though the gas tube is EP'd with a different number than what is stamped into the rifle everywhere else, the finish matches perfectly, and the retaining rivet through the handguard retainer is still peened in place. Go figure.

if you really want a yugo for your collection you should really check out http://www.samcoglobal.com/ they have yugos out the yin yang they are located in Florida. they have everything from shooter grade for $109 to new unissued consecutive serial numbers still in original crates for $199 they have a few other grades which are priced between the $109 and $199. I have one of their excellent grade rifles listed at $149 mine ended up costing a little more due to gun dealer fees but it cost $159 + 8.3% tax = $173.26 OTD

Look at these new unissued beauties Im seriously thinking about buying two of those unissued rifles with consecutive serial numbers. Im literally drooling over this picture.

Nice pic! I too am beginning to drool just looking at it. Fixing to get a pretty nice income tax return and would like to buy a couple more. Of course I would love to get my hands on a good Norinco if I can find a good deal.
